Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of our children, staff and Governors I would like to welcome you to Leatherhead Trinity School & Nursery. We are a two-form entry primary school who deliver the highest quality education to children from Nursery to Year 6.

As a school, we serve our local community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice, and through working in close partnership with our three local church communities:

We encourage and understand the meaning and significance of faith and promote Christian values through the experiences we offer, and nurture, in all of our pupils, staff, governors and the wider community.

Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery

We Are OPAL Platinum! We are thrilled to announce that our school has been awarded the OPAL Platinum Award the highest recognition for outstanding play provision in schools. This places us among the top 1% of schools nationally, and we couldn't be prouder! Since beginning our OPAL journey in January 2024, playtimes have been transformed. Our pupils now enjoy rich, inclusive, and imaginative play experiences every day. From building dens and sliding down the bank to role-playing and exploring nature, children are more active, creative, and collaborative than ever before. The impact has been profound: Improved wellbeing and happiness across all year groups Enhanced social skills, teamwork, and resilience Greater independence and confidence in decision-making A noticeable reduction in playground conflicts Play is not just a break from learning it is learning, in fact it's 20% of the school day. Through OPAL, we've seen how high-quality play supports emotional development, physical health, and academic success. To mark this incredible achievement, we will be holding a special presentation assembly on Friday 5th December, where our Platinum Award will be officially recognised and celebrated. We'd like to thank our wonderful staff, supportive families, and of course, our incredible pupils for embracing the OPAL ethos so wholeheartedly. This award is a celebration of what we've achieved together and we're excited to keep building on this success. How you can help! We are looking to top up our supply of loose parts for OPAL. We are looking for: Costumes/hats/bags - the items do not need to be fancy dress costumes – we would accept any good quality hats or bags. Happyland characters (or any chunky small world characters) Cars/trucks Animal figures All donated items can be dropped off at the school office.
