As the Headteacher and Chair of the Governing Body of Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery, we are pleased you have been offered a Reception place for your child at our school in September 2021.
We were judged as Good by Ofsted in June 2019 and we continue on our journey to making the school Outstanding in all elements. We are very fortunate that Leatherhead Trinity has an excellent modern building and facilities with a Nursery, Nurture Group and Communication Interaction Needs Unit. We provide a breakfast club, after school care club, a full programme of after school clubs and we are supported by The Friends of Leatherhead Trinity who run a number of fundraising events throughout the year to help support the school.
Due to the lockdowns, and Early Years setting closures, we know that children starting Reception will be coming to us having had varied time in previous settings or will not have accessed an early years setting at all. Our Reception learning plans will be adapted to recap pre-school or Nursery learning, so that any learning missed is addressed. To help with this we will be talking to pre-school and Nursery settings, as we always do, to find out where your child is in their learning. We will also be speaking to you directly to find out about your child’s preferences, things they particularly enjoy, and about things they may find more challenging. These meetings usually take place within the context of a home visit, however if this isn’t possible, we will look to be creative and make sure we receive the information we all need. We will also be in touch to share our plans for Reception induction (in June/July) once we are clearer about the way forward nationally regarding COVID-19 safety measures.
