Wrap-Around Care

Supporting children before and after the school day

At Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery, we understand that family life can be busy, and that children benefit from calm, consistent care around the school day. From the start of Reception onwards, we offer breakfast and after‑school provision that supports children’s wellbeing, confidence and routine.

Both our breakfast club and after‑school care are run by familiar school staff, helping children feel secure and supported at the beginning and end of the day.

A calm and consistent start to the day

Breakfast Club (from Reception)

Our breakfast club provides a gentle, welcoming start to the school day, helping children arrive feeling settled and ready to learn.

Children are welcomed by familiar adults and enjoy a relaxed environment where they can:

  • settle in calmly
  • enjoy a healthy breakfast
  • socialise with friends
  • ease into the school day at their own pace

Breakfast club is available from 7.45am for children in Reception and older.

A reassuring end to the school day

After‑School Care (from Reception)

Our after‑school care offers a safe, supportive environment at the end of the school day, where children can relax and take part in calm, enjoyable activities.

The session is carefully structured to help children unwind after learning, with:

  • indoor and outdoor play
  • creative activities
  • quiet time when needed
  • familiar routines and expectations

After‑school care runs until 6.00pm for children in Reception and older.

Continuity of care that supports young children

For children starting school in Reception, transitions can be a big step. Having wraparound care led by school staff who already know the children well helps provide reassurance and consistency.

Children benefit from:

  • familiar faces throughout the day
  • consistent behaviour expectations
  • calm transitions before and after school
  • strong safeguarding and pastoral care

Even for families who may only use the provision occasionally, knowing this support is available can be reassuring.

Working with families

We aim to support families by offering flexible, dependable wraparound care that fits with the school day and supports children’s wellbeing.

Staff are always happy to talk with families about routines, needs or any questions regarding breakfast or after‑school care, helping ensure children feel confident and supported at all times.
