Remote Education Provison

Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery recognises the importance of providing high-quality remote education when pupils are unable to attend school due to exceptional circumstances such as illness, self-isolation, or other disruptions.

How We Deliver Remote Education:

  • We provide a broad and specialist curriculum remotely, reflecting our rich offer in music, languages, sports, creative arts, science, technology, engineering, and outdoor learning.
  • Learning materials and resources are shared through our secure online learning platform, Purple Mash, ensuring accessibility and safeguarding for all pupils.
  • Pupils also have access to trusted educational platforms including Oxford Owl for reading, Times Tables Rock Stars and Numbots for maths fluency and skills development.
  • Teachers deliver lessons through a blend of live sessions, recorded videos, and interactive activities designed to engage pupils and support knowledge retention.
  • We maintain a coaching culture remotely, encouraging pupils to take ownership of their learning with regular feedback and support from staff.

Supporting All Pupils:

  • We tailor remote learning to meet the diverse needs of our community, including pupils with SEND, EAL, and those eligible for FSM.
  • Our staff work closely with families to provide additional resources or alternative formats where needed, ensuring no child is disadvantaged.
  • We use regular, purposeful assessment through the graduated approach of ‘assess, plan, do, review’ to understand and respond to individual pupil needs.
  • We encourage positive communication between home and school, providing practical strategies and tailored communications to support learning at home. This includes weekly texts, termly letters, and direct contact to foster dialogue and partnership.

Expectations for Pupils and Families:

  • Pupils are encouraged to engage actively with remote learning tasks and communicate with their teachers regularly.
  • Parents and carers are invited to support their children’s learning and maintain contact with the school for any assistance or concerns.

Access and Support:

  • We strive to ensure all pupils have access to the necessary technology and internet connectivity. Where this is a challenge, the school will work to provide alternative solutions.
  • Clear instructions and technical support are offered to families to navigate remote learning platforms effectively.

Monitoring and Review:

  • The quality and impact of our remote education provision are regularly evaluated to ensure it meets the needs of our pupils and aligns with our commitment to “Quality First Teaching and Learning.”
  • Feedback from pupils, parents, and staff informs ongoing improvements.
