Extra - Curricular Music
KS1 Choir and KS2 Choir
The benefits of singing together are huge - Research shows that singing is an excellent way to maintain a sense of well-being, and singing together promotes teamwork and a sense of being part of something wonderful.
Mrs Boswell and Miss Brewer offer our children the chance to be part of a real choir where they can sing with their friends and build their confidence. Both choirs perform a special Christmas Carol concert for parents and friends as well as going out into the community singing at ‘ Nativity in The Town’ and visiting care homes to perform to the residents.
This year KS1 choir will enter The Leith Hill Festival at Dorking Halls which provides a great opportunity for our younger children to perform to a wider audience and receive feedback from esteemed judges. KS2 choir will take part in a festival at Dorking Halls; giving them an opportunity to sing with a huge choir made up of local schools.
Staff choir
Mrs. Boswell also leads a staff choir; offering an opportunity for staff to come together and sing. The staff choir provides extra support to the children’s singing in school.
