Affordability and Accessibility

In line with the Department for Education's statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms, we are committed to ensuring that our uniform is affordable and accessible to all families. To achieve this, we will:

  • Limit Branded Items: Ensure that the number of branded items is kept to a minimum, allowing parents to purchase generic alternatives where possible.
  • Provide Second-Hand Uniforms: Offer second-hand uniforms through our PTA, The Friends of Leatherhead Trinity, who hold regular sales. For more information, please contact them via their Facebook page or email friendsofleatherheadtrinity@gmail.com.
  • Transparent Information: Publish detailed information about uniform requirements, including where items can be purchased and the associated costs, on the school's website.
  • Consultation with Parents: Regularly consult with parents and carers when developing and reviewing our uniform policy to ensure it meets the needs of our community.

Compliance with Statutory Guidance

This policy has been developed in accordance with the Department for Education's statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms, which requires schools to:

  • Ensure that uniform costs are reasonable and provide the best value for money.
  • Limit the number of branded items to reduce costs for parents.
  • Provide information on how to purchase uniforms, including details about second-hand uniform availability.
  • Ensure that uniform requirements do not prevent pupils from attending or participating in school activities due to cost.

For further details, please refer to the Department for Education's guidance on the cost of school uniforms. (gov.uk)

By adhering to this policy, we aim to create a cohesive and inclusive environment where all pupils feel part of the Leatherhead Trinity School community. We appreciate the support of our parents and carers in upholding these standards and ensuring that our uniform policy remains fair and accessible to all.
