Curriculum Overview
At Leatherhead Trinity School, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, emotional, and physical development of all our pupils. Our curriculum is designed to prepare children for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences they will encounter in later life.
In addition to the National Curriculum, we provide a wide range of physical and creative learning experiences that enrich our pupils’ education. You can explore these further on our curriculum website pages.
Curriculum Stages at Leatherhead Trinity
- Early Years Foundation Stage (ages 0-5)
- Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2, ages 5-7)
- Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6, ages 7-11)
Our teaching follows a topic-based approach, aligned with the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum for each key stage and subject. More details about the topics covered can be found on the class pages.
We carefully plan lessons to ensure there are no barriers to learning, and our teachers tailor their planning to meet the individual needs of every child.
Partnership with Our School Community
We believe that education is a partnership between the school, pupils, and families. We work closely with parents and carers to help every child achieve their full potential. We ask all families to support our Home School Agreement (see below) and encourage regular learning at home, as appropriate.
Each term, parents receive a newsletter from their child’s class teacher outlining the learning areas for the term (please see the class pages for details).
Building Learning Powers and Wider Learning
At Leatherhead Trinity, we have ‘learning friends’ who support the development of children’s learning powers. These are embedded within our curriculum because we believe that fostering positive learning habits from an early age encourages independence and motivation.
We hope you share our excitement about the curriculum and invite you to explore in more detail the learning journeys our pupils undertake at Leatherhead Trinity School.
