This half term, our topic is 'What is life like on the Isle of Struay?'
We will share several of Mairi Hedderwick's Katie Morag stories. We will learn about island life and investigate the human physical features found on the island. We will also learn about how we change and grow as we get older and how to keep healthy.
After half term, we will compare the lives of Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Elizabeth II.
During this term we are learning about life in China and the history of transport. We compare China and the United Kingdom and identify similarities and differences. We hope to try different Chinese foods during our topic.
When learning about transport, we will investigate how transport and travel has changed throughout the years. We will visit Brooklands Museum and look at different forms of transport.
In science we are learning about plants.
Our topic for the first half term is 'All Around Us'. During this half term we will learn about plants and animals in our local environment. We will look at their habitats and explore our school grounds. We will explore different areas (e.g. the field, gardens, pond and Scarecrow Wood) and find out what lives and grows in each area.
Our topic for the second half term is 'At the Seaside'. We will learn about the history of the seaside and its geographical features.
