Experiences

Pirates

We launched this topic with a pirate day. The children enjoyed dressing up as pirates, making pirate ships, making parrots, learning songs and making Wanted posters.

Victorians

The children began this topic with a Victorian school day experience. They dressed up as Victorian children and spent their morning learning as a Victorian child would including using chalk boards, learning by rote and discovering the “punishments” used in Victorian times.

At Christmas we visit Polesden Lacey to see how the house is decorated and learn how the people of the house would have celebrated Christmas in Victorian times.
