All of our classrooms have interactive whiteboards. Previously we have used SMART boards but we are currently transitioning to using C Touch boards. Our future aim is to utilise the collaboration opportunities between the C Touch boards and our tablet devices.
We have recently invested in LearnPads and the children have been using them to support and extend their learning. We currently share our LearnPads across each year group and also have larger Folio LearnPads that can be used for group work. We believe that they can be an integral part of everyday learning and so are continuing to explore how the devices can be used. Our vision is to have the use of LearnPads embedded throughout the curriculum and school life.
We also have iPads in school and use the PocketPhonics apps to support our phonics teaching in Key Stage 1. The app provides opportunities for children to read, hear and write the sounds. Once the children have secured their sounds they can apply them when reading PocketPhonic Stories. There are many benefits to this app, including: monitoring individual children’s progress and ensuring that they are confident with each sound before they can move onto learning the next one.
