Please see below the communication from Surrey County Council regarding the Children’s Centre consultation which launches today, closing 4th January 2019. The public consultation proposes that from the current 58 Children’s Centres in Surrey, there will be a reduction to 21 main centres with at least one in each of the 11 districts or boroughs. There will also be smaller centres that will offer fewer services (satellite centres) and there will be places where workers who are supporting families can meet with them.
The Mole Valley proposal in the consultation document (page 15) is that Dorking Nursery School Sure Start Children’s Centre (Goodwyns site) will be the location for the ‘Mole Valley Children’s Centre’ (name TBC), their West Street site will be a satellite location and that Leatherhead Trinity School Children’s Centre will no longer offer a service - it will close. To have your say you can fill in the questionnaire at www.surreycc.gov.uk/consultations by clicking on ‘Family Resilience: Children’s Centres’.
It is very important that the public consultation captures the views of as many families as possible so, Leatherhead Trinity urges you all to have your say and ensure that our local community gets the best universal, additional, intensive and specialist support, if and when, a family should need it.
