Sports Premium

Since 2013 the government has provided additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Eligible schools

Funding for schools in 2013-17 has been calculated by reference to the number of primary-aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11), as recorded in the annual schools census taken in January.
Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery has been awarded £18,861 for the 19-20 academic year.

Purpose of funding

Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they have the freedom to choose how they do this.
