In Reception our topic this first half term is, ‘Where do we live?’ As part of this we looked at our homes and families and our wider community. We learnt about people who help us in our community and had visits from the fire service, the paramedics and the community police officers.
In the second half term our topic is ‘Celebrations and Festivals’. We will be looking at the celebrations and festivals that children have at home as well as festivals that other people celebrate. This will end with learning about the Christmas story, the reasons we celebrate Christmas and how it is celebrated in their homes.

In Reception we do not set formal home learning. We do send reading books home every week and would encourage you to read with the children on a daily basis. The children also have a sound book which they will bring home with the sounds they have been learning in class.
